Very much like Kate Morton's books -- a flowing journey through time and space where you meet characters again and again at various points in their lives. The characters are so real its hard to believe they are figments of Katherine Freeman's imagination. I love her character development during this novel! So many people grow and change -- again, hard to believe she created them all.

Penny Bright is a pop star on the rise -- just about to hit it huge in America. Her manager sends her to rehab for a few weeks and hires a farm girl look-a-like to fill in for the real Penny. Suddenly the real Penny is missing. Did she run away from it all? Or is there something more sinister going on? Will the farm girl be able to continue the charade and keep Penny's tour on schedule? The answers to these questions provide a fascinating, globe-spanning, multi-decade tale!
