This was a slightly slower paced continuation of Nyneve's story as she fleeds as a wanted fugitive and finds shelter with a mentor broom maker. With his help, she is able to slowly regrow some of her hair and magic, create a deep unique bond to her own broomstick crafted by her own hand, and regain confidence in herself and her capabilities. It ends with a cliffhanger as she leaves her mentor to return to the wider world.
