The Rabbit Back Literature Society by Pasi Ilmari Jääskeläinen
4.0

Usually when I finish a good book I feel a sense of accomplishment. I either pride myself in having recognized some plot twists the author was going to take or just take pleasure in having read and enjoyed being part of the character's story. It's over, but it's ok because I feel I got what I wanted/needed from the book. Rabbit Back was different. I really enjoyed it but I feel I have just as many questions now as I did going into the story. Book plagues, a missing author, supernatural elements and a possible murder are all there. All good places to start a story. Yet at the end, I feel only one of those plots is truly resolved and I just want to know more.
The ending was unexpected and I wish we had learned more about Ella's father. I wish the book plague, an idea which I loved, had been explored more. I don't anticipate there will be a sequel, I'm not really even sure how that could work. I guess I will have to imagine my own anwers to the unanswered questions. Still if I hadn't read it, I wouldn't even know the questions, so that alone makes it a worthy read for me.
