When one reads reviews, always take them with a grain of salt. (Mine included then I guess!) Some of the top reviews of The Moor are rather sarcastic. Undeserving in my opinion.
This was actually my second reading of The Moor and it was just as good as the first (which I admit was only 10 months ago). All things aside, Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes embark on a journey to find what is wrong with the Moor, and once again it LRK presents the reader with excellent writing, occasionally slow but never dull adventure, and an explosive finalè.
On a side note, if you are a fan of Sherlock Holmes and have never read Mary Russell you really should. She’s as close to cannon as I’ve found.
