I hate giving a bad review, but I think I need to here. I have loved the Jack Reacher series for many reasons, not least of which is the voice of Jack himself. Lee Child may have been coaching Andrew in writing the previous book, but I think in this case he left the kid on his own, and I just can't finish it. The voice is all wrong. The ancillary story-telling, which I have also really appreciated, is clumsy in comparison. Keep trying kid, but this one should have been sent back for major revision. I give two stars because it's (probably - again I couldn't finish it) got a novel-sized plot, which is no mean feat. But it takes way more to be a good book.
I guess I must bid farewell to Jack Reacher and simply remember him as he was.
