This book was great. I do admit it. But it felt awfully long. I feel as though this could easily have been a shorter book.

One thing that does slightly annoy me is the constant 'purring' that the characters do. Are they cats??? I'm sorry but if someone came up to me and 'purred' I don't believe I'd be at all comfortable around them.

The storyline has promise, it does. And the characters do pique my interest. I do appreciate the smallest bit of diversity with a gay character but they only appear slightly which just doesn't sit right with me. I do wish for more diversity (inclusive of poc, disability and even lgbtq+ reps) as I just feel this would better the book and more people may enjoy it.

As I stated earlier, the storyline has promise and I am interested in book 2. The storyline and the characters are what kept me interested in reading. The fight scenes were very well described and I enjoyed the banter between Hunt and Bryce. The suspense element certainly played a great part in the storytelling of this book and kept me waiting to see what was to come next.

I look forward to book 2, but I do hope for more diversity as I believe it will definitely add some 'realness' to the story.

Overall though, this is a great book with great promise and I am looking forward to some of Maas's future writings.
