Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan

This reminded me a lot of the movie "Untamed Heart." I did love that movie. This, not so much. It was okay ...just way too many plot conveniences, MacGuffins, plot device characters, and one-dimensional protagonists. It just fell flat. I also am not happy with how Archer's disability was treated at times. The story was fast-paced and an easy read, but the writing quality was just poor.

I had to suspend my disbelief a lot for this one. However, despite their trauma, the characters tried to treat one another with a modicum of respect and care. That is a lot considering the plethora of unhealthy relationships people seem to swoon over in most modern romances. I really thought I would like this one and I wanted to, but I am left disappointed. I can't help but think that this would possibly be better if it was a movie. At least in that format some of the errors can be masked enough with drama and good acting, as it is a bit more of a forgivable format.
