an absolutely beautifully woven story reflecting on the mirroring of human behavior and nature. i could not get enough of this book!

Kingsolver’s orchestration of words detailing something as minute as leaf mold or as grand as a Mountain range transported me right into this little town in Appalachia.

the characters were crafted so sweetly and organically human, even that ole curmudgeon Garnett <3 the blending of all 3 main character’s stories was done so well, i had no inclination of how they’d be interconnected. i fell head over heels for every character and how they showed love, compassion, grit, independence, grief, and raw human nature. we are all connected, and not meant to do this scary life stuff alone.

if you’re a gardener, birder, southerner, small-towner, or nature freak like me and my mom (who recommended me this book) you should love Prodigal Summer.

5/5 and best book on my shelf for the last 5 years, easily! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
