El Diablo II by M. Robinson

4.0

Crucifixio Martinez is the son of El Diablo, and his father has done everything he can to keep Cruz away from the life he grew up with. But when an event occurs that destroys Cruz's family, he knows he will do whatever it takes to right his wrongs.

Sienna Luciano is a Mafia princess and the one who distracted Cruz from the job he had. Now she is being forced to marry him in order to unify their families and make a stronger front. Sienna is devastated and in no way wants to marry Cruz.

Can Sienna and Cruz come to neutral ground and make their marriage work or will Cruz have to sacrifice Sienna in order to put his family back together?

This was a great book and I enjoyed it from start to finish!!

Cruz was a super interesting character as you could see that he had a very complicated relationship with his father and never seemed to do the right thing. I loved his immediate attraction to Sienna but I hated how the next events spiraled out of control and Cruz blamed himself for everything. He truly cared about Sienna and it was super hard for him when it was evident that she hated him so much at the beginning of the book.

I really felt sorry for Sienna in that she was seen as a bargaining chip when her dad forced her to marry Cruz after she turned 18. I really don't think she realized how enamored he was of her but because of his dad and what they were each known as she immediately had her guard up and didn't want to let him anywhere near her.

I loved at a certain point when Sienna really realized how much Cruz cared by what he did for her and what he brought over to his place that meant so much to Sienna. It made me so happy with how much detail he put into everything and how he wanted it to reflect Sienna. That begins to change things for them until an event makes Sienna see the other side of Cruz in which she flips out and both of them end up in a really bad position.

The next events were very intersting as Cruz was really prepared to give up everything but was also aware that there was more going on than he realized and that their respective families had been watched for a very long time.

The end was like OMG for me especially since I never read the first book. I completely understood what was going on but I knew that there was also a huge piece of the puzzle that I was without and I really need to go back and read the first one!! The decision that Cruz was being forced to make was absolutely heart wrenching and I couldn't imagine having to do that.

The change in Sienna at the end was awesome and I really love the two of them together!! The epilogue was so awesome and I look forward to more!!
