This is the first book in the The Wayland Saga which I think is a Duology - with no plans to have an additional book. This book is about a fantastical world which centers around a boy who has been pulled into the fight for good and evil - whether he wants it or not. Setting the stage his father is missing assumed dead and apart from his mom, his other family consists of his eccentric uncle and his best friend Jain. He is pulled into a fight which has been as been in place for many years and only because of the blood that runs through his veins. There is bonds (forged and broken), treachery, deceptions and truths revealed through this book and all this has been done amazingly by the author.
