Best Intentions by Simran Dhir

1.0

It’s a disappointment. I went in expecting a romantic political thriller after reading the gripping synopsis, but was sorely let down by the 2D characters with zero depth or personality. It was unnecessarily lengthy and dragged since the beginning with absolutely useless information. I didn’t enjoy it at all. One more thing that irked me was the use of hindi dialogues without immediate translations through context clues. I don’t think international readers would enjoy this at all. Plus it seems like the author included drama and conflicts just for the sake of including them. They didn’t seem interesting or needed at all. Honestly there wasn’t a point to this novel at all. Good effort, it has a lot of potential but sadly it’s nowhere close to that.
