War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy

4.75

Tolstoy writes War and Peace with the genius of his experience, both as an author and as a man, as a soldier.
It is undeniable to any who have given War and Peace the time and dedication that it needs, that this book is one of the best things ever written and will continue to be so.
There were times that I couldn't put it down and times that I dreaded picking it up, but ultimately it was all worth it.
I hope to re-read the same copy one day, when I have lived and experienced life in a multitude of ways, so that I can perhaps feel the effect of history and fiction all over again. And realize, one more time, why we (humans) write and create art; why everything, from the books we read to the choices we make, become history.
