This book was exactly what I wanted/needed! I had heard good things about this series, but something about fairy fantasy turned me off. Leigh Bardugo mentioned Holly Black at an event I went to recently, so I figured it was time to finally give this a go. I devoured it! We love an enemies to lovers trope, but we love political intrigue even more. All the plotting and secrets and spies, oh my! I also really enjoyed the relationship dynamics between sisters, and I thought that added a rich layer to an already multilevel plot. The audiobook narrator was one of the best I’ve heard in awhile. This has been a rather intense week on a lot of fronts, and some fantasy escapism was so so helpful. Forever grateful for the magic of fiction!
