The Taxidermist's Daughter by Kate Mosse

4.0

I don't know why but I found this book aesthetically beautiful. The writing, the imagery, the characters, the nicknames, it all falls under my subjective tastes. Some things about the ending didn't come together as I felt it should.

I thought Connie was a fascinating protagonist and despite her being an unusual lady for her time, it didn't scream too much 'not like other girls.'

I think I may read it again just for the beautifully dark visuals and the heavy atmosphere.

Gives me the same fascination I have with Guillermo del Toro's work.
