Threads That Bind by Kika Hatzopoulou

4.0

Thank you to the publisher and TandemCollective for sending me a proof copy and for letting me be apart of the readalong! It was so great!

What an excellent book. I seriously got so enthralled in this story with all its twists and turns. Such amazing action scenes and adventure. I loved the detailed descriptions and world building while incorporating Greek Mythology. The mystery of the book seriously lures you in where you can’t help but turn the page. It was hard to put the book down!

We follow Io who is a descendent of the Fates and the youngest of three sisters. Io has the power to cut threads a power which is dangerous in their world. The bidding relationship/friendship between Io and her fate-thread Edei was sooo lovely to read about. It felt so authentic and still came with the doubts that (is it really love between them or is the thread making them feel these things).

Io has seriously become a new fav of mine. And the other characters in the book were all distinct and unique too. Io begins to realise things are not what it seems and this is where the mystery comes in. The twists and turns could feel predictable but one of them was still just sooo shocking. Io goes through a lot and I can’t help but admire her. That last twist and cliffhanger?!! Ahhh!!

Overall a seriously unique YA fantasy that is full of learning and mystery and I seriously recommend. A huge 4 stars from me!
