Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott

1.0

I do not understand how people enjoy this book and say that it helps with writing.

This book is full of one person's ramblings about growing up and being a writer and a teacher now. But there is no actual advice or tips in here beyond the one phrase that the book is titled after.

BIRD BY BIRD was said by her father to her brother referencing writing a paper about bird. The brother waited too long, and had one day to finish, and their father (also a writer) told him to write it 'Bird by Bird'.

Good advise? Yes. Her own advise? No. Anything else worth a damn within these pages? Absolutely not.

I would love to have a conversation with someone who did garner inspiration from this, because I found nothing of any value within this book.
