This is I think the book that I am most conflicted about. Like I think I will come back to add more and maybe even change the rating. It has a lot of the elements that I love about the series: Bree's connection with other the black characters and her own ancestors, the root crafter and the way Deonn writes emotional moments.

But there are also some parts that I have conflictin feelings about: mainly

almost everything that happened at the auction, the new povs and how quickly they were abandoned and i still don't really connect to the romantic subplot

The ending surprised me though
