I really loved how Gia grew in a short amount of time and how she owned up for her mistakes. She outgrew the social standards of being what most people think of a 'shallow teenager' obsessed with validation and social media. I wish I had read this while in high school because I think it would have helped me cope with not being perfect all the time. The Fill-In Boyfriend is definitely a great book and I will most likely read it again in the future.
