I’ve been told numerous times to read this book and I kept putting it off. Finally I decided to dive in and I realized why I put it off. First off the positives is the book starts in May 2004 when the FMC graduates high school. I also graduated high school in May 2004 so I thought that was cool. There is also so much nostalgia when they mention things like RAZR phones. There is just something about seeing two people fall for each other and get to experience it right along with them that gives me butterflies. I think the reason I didn’t love this book was because of their age. Yeah he’s 23 but the girl is 17 and she acts very young. There was a time I loved books with young characters but now I feel like I can’t relate anymore. I believe that makes me old 😩 I’m honestly thinking I just didn’t connect with these characters so it just threw me off completely. The storyline is cute and the ending was definitely sad, I just didn’t feel a pull to these characters. Normally a cliffhanger would leave me wanting to start the next one right away and unfortunately that is not the case with this one.
