A lean, propulsive serial killer story with a nonbinary protagonist and a paranormal twist. Sid's exploration of their gender identity is expertly woven through an examination of societal expectations of girlhood. Absolutely loved the messy, complicated social dynamics of having a serial killer for a dad, and I was so down for a romantic interest that knew exactly what she wanted and didn't waffle around.  I wish that the paranormal aspects of the plot were a little better developed. As it is, the ghosts are extremely creepy, but they unfortunately don't do much more than be scary.
