The Unbound Witch by Miranda Lyn
2.5
This was almost a dnf but I had some hope because I liked book 1 so much.
But this was like a completely different book. All of the relationship dynamics changed and a bunch of new side characters were pushed into this "found family" situation that just did not work. The characters all had potential and I liked them, but there was just no build up. It felt forced.
As for the plot, it also had potential but it felt like the rules kept changing. Or they were never established to begin with. There were so many other actions and plot twists that would have made more sense. And after a while, I just started losing trust in the story because it seemed like any random thing might happen. And I wasn't wrong.
Overall, this was really disappointing. I was glad to have the Kirsi POV though.
