The Hollow by Jessica Verday

adventurous challenging emotional mysterious sad tense slow-paced

5.0

This is the first book in the *Hollow Trilogy*. Each book must be read in order.

Abbey's best friend Kristen passed away. She hasn't been dealing with the loss very well. She sees this boy in the cemetery after Kristen's funeral. Said boy keeps reappearing. Abbey sometimes goes looking for him. Something about him is different but she doesn't understand what it is. How can one person change your entire world? I don't know how but he did.

I'm obsessed with how Caspian calls Abbey "Astrid". I absolutely love that Abbey has an amazing hobby that she wants to turn into a career. I feel awful that Abbey lost Kristen. Losing anyone is hard. When Abbey finds out about Kristen's betrayal I wanted to cry with her. It must be confusing for Abbey how not only did her best friend hide something but Caspian is too. I think it's nice that Abbey and Kristen had the cemetery to go to. Prom night broke my heart. Christmas was definitely not what Abbey expected. The ending made me a little upset. I do love this story but I wish it ended differently. Now on to *The Haunted*.
