The Darkest Craving by Gena Showalter

2.0

Ugh, it was eye rolling sacrilege!

The overall story base was a good idea and the ending was fair, but the writing felt distracted at times and rushed. And Gena keeps letting her delicate sensibilities ruin Kane and Josephina's chemistry. Their relationship seemed forced at times and not believable. [You can use the word cock, Gena, you've done it before!] I have read Y.A. novels with hotter chemistry than Kane and Tink have--this nick name was so annoying, and constantly grated on my nerves as I dragged myself though this book. There were times when Kane would leave the scene and it was obvious something went down while he was gone, but nothing was ever explained; like a whole scene was cut out or something.

Overall, I wanted to feel something for these characters, but just couldn't connect with them. The only thing that really peaked my interest, was when the main story diverted to Torin's story and Cameos story. Either one could be next in the series, but I won't be buying any more of Gena's books until I hear that shs's put her big girl pants on and started writing like we all know she can.
