Did not finish book. Stopped at 48%.

The protagonist is unable to do anything for herself and at half way through the book she still doesn't have a back bone. There is constant discussion of "demon dick", but she can't say hell and instead says heckity? What? There is enough social context to indicate this is present day or close to it so why the censoring of swear words?
