Read this via online pdf just to finally finish this "series." Started off strong–interesting to know about the birthmothers in the original society, etc... but the whole middle section at the cliff-side town felt pointless and dragged...
Also, the "world-building" of the series is strange... I like that we started off vague, but then the story becomes very specific in some aspects (the Trademaster as a literal personification of evil) and remains vague in others (society origins, characters' "gifts" or powers).
Overall feels uneven. Good ideas poorly executed.
