Hunting Adeline
by H.D. Carlton
Alright, listen. I don’t know whether to scream into a pillow or take a long, contemplative walk in the woods. This book was a lot, and I mean A LOT. It felt like my brain was being waterboarded with insanity, and yet… I kept turning the pages like some unhinged gremlin who couldn’t look away.
The writing? Addictive. The plot? A fever dream dipped in gasoline and set on fire. The characters? They need so much therapy that I don’t even know where to begin. And me? I need a moment. Maybe a snack. Definitely therapy.
It wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t great. It was like watching a car crash in slow motion.. you can’t condone it, but you must see how it ends.
Three stars because I survived, but at what cost?
