I struggled to get into this for about the first third, but after that it was lovely. It's a very beautiful, thought-provoking exploration of grief, death and life. The characters grew on me after the slow start, but the plot felt secondary to all the beautiful, thought-provoking stuff.
Graphic: Death, Grief, Mass/school shootings
Moderate: Gun violence, Suicidal thoughts, Fire/Fire injury
