wow! this was my first time reading this book (i reread the first three in preparation for this) and i loved it! not only do we get more heartache and anguish, we also get more badass Poppy which is my favourite. i love the direction JLA has gone in, and although there are aspects that are very core NA fantasy novel, i believe she’s gone above and created a story with a level of intricacy that i really commend. i also love the fact that it’s not pretentious and easy to follow like some adult fantasy can be. i know there was a scene in this book that created a lot of division between readers but i think she did the right thing, and that she’s probably had it in mind since she began writing the series so i really didn’t find it surprising. i’ve remembered how much i love this series and absolutely cannot wait for whatever comes next!
