The Woman in Me by Britney Spears
5.0
challenging dark emotional sad tense medium-paced

I couldn’t help think how brave Britney was to produce a memoir. It must have been difficult to revisit experiences in her past. Toward the end, I cried listening to what she put up with (and I knew the main points beforehand).

The part reminiscing about her childhood and her rise to fame was very factual, and therefore, a little boring. The memoir came to life as she described the 13-year conservatorship. The reader knows exactly how she feels about this period.

I listened to the audiobook. Michelle Williams did a FANTASTIC job. I completely forgot that she wasn’t Britney.

Five stars for writing this memoir and Michelle Williams’ narration.
