This book starts out cheesy and mostly reads as fan fiction. Well-written fan fiction, but not on the same level as the show. But boy, the last 50 pages really knocked me out. Some beautiful writing. It’s framed as a setup for The Return, but it’s better as a follow-up to season two, and it fleshes out some elements of the original show nicely. You can tell what parts of the show were really Frost’s contribution. Interesting to see the Milford brothers developed so fully. And he has Major Briggs’s voice down. Also, the design is really beautiful.
