Trigger Warnings for rape, misogyny, torture, slut shaming, death of a loved one, suicidal thoughts. This definitely can be a hard read so pick it up with caution.

This came into my radar a year or so ago and I was intrigued right away by the beautiful cover and then I looked into the synopsis and was even more interested. The way the author tells the story of Artemisia Gentileschi through verse is stunningly beautiful as well as heartbreaking, using this particular form of art to describe Artemisia's own art and the trauma made it more impactful and harrowing. Using the stories of Susannah and Judith to help mirror Artemisia's was wonderfully done as well and brought such a unique angle to the story as well. I can very well see myself rereading this in the future and picking up new things each time I do.
