My favourite thing about this series is that, no matter how savvy I think I am to Eddie's clever tricks, Cavanagh can sucker punch me with a total surprise. These are some of the cleverest books I've read and I absolutely love them.
Though I come for the clever plots and intriguing twists, I stay for the incredible characters. Every book I love Eddie, Harry (and Clarence!), Kate and Bloch even more. And Denise is worming her way in there now too. Their dynamic is everything and I adore them all.
This is a really punchy installment in the series. It's quick, it's dramatic and there's very little let-up. While I was sad to finish it and have to wait for the next one, I was quite glad to get to the resolution quicker because the tension was high!
