When All Is Said by Anne Griffin

2.0

Very boring and blindingly predictable. A book clearly written by a woman wanting to pass as a man and failing. A woman who has no idea what someone in this situation would do or think. This book was shite.

There’s just no way an aged man, drunk, depressed, would remember full conversations from sixty years ago. He wouldn’t remember every meal and the smell of each.

Absolutely no part of the book rang true. I found it an abysmal mess. The wording was off. The cadence was off. The details were way off. Nothing worked.

I am generously giving it two stars as I can tell the author worked quite hard.

If you are stuck reading this, take a tip from the protagonist and get drunk - it helps.
