Clanlands: Whisky, Warfare, and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other
by Graham McTavish, Sam Heughan
Once again, I’m really wishing that Goodreads had an incremental star rating system. 3.5? 3.75? I’m on the fence - I don’t think this one quite makes four stars for me, but it’s definitely better than 3.
The book is largely entertaining and pretty informative, and I do REALLY love Sam Heughan (and lbh, Graham McTavish is a total silver fox). But the back-and-forth plays out way better on-screen than in the pages of a book, and their constant petty insults - most of which insinuated that the other was of the female persuasion - got tired real fast.
This is one of those rare times that for me, the show (Men in Kilts) is better than the book. Sorry, boys…
