I loved this book! And I am going on record as asking-no DEMANDING—that Meghan Quinn write the romance of Luna's roommate, Farrah, because she is my favorite character and I adore her! Okay, that demand was kind of a dick move, but PRETTY PLEASE?
I've read other "TV Competition" Romances and most of them suffer from going into insanely intricate detail about the challenges and process of each item made for the challenge. And it gets to be way too much! But THE WEDDING GAME has the perfect amount of detail about the competition without it becoming the sole focus of the story.
I loved Luna and Alec! Their relationship is so fun to read as it changes from Enemies to Lovers. And This book has realistic problems that are complex (but not too heavy) that give you just enough drama to dig into while this book still being a light and fun read!
And I absolutely LOVED the LGBTQ representation in this book! Two of the three teams in this Reality Competition are same-sex couples and Meghan Quinn does NOT shy away from joking and barbing about the stereotypes surrounding the LGBTQ community! But the jokes are never at the expense of the LGBTQ couples (are that community in general). We are laughing WITH them, not at them. I snort-laughed more than once at the hilarious quips about these couples!
In the end you get a satisfyingly sweet and swoony romance that comes with the level of steam this author always brings to the table (READ: a lot of perfectly steamy steam)!
This book was a delight! Funny, fun, sexy, and smart!
