My Year of Rest and Relaxation
by Ottessa Moshfegh
I envy the protagonist's freedom to detach from the world for a year. At times I questioned whether she was still human or just pretending, then realized I've wondered that very thing about myself in the past. Perhaps it should be worrying to see myself in a character like this. Perhaps I need a nap. I considered rating this book anywhere between 3 and 4.5 stars, and ultimately settled on
Aspirational/10.
