thefreakyalien 's review for:
Lirael
by Garth Nix
Lirael is the second book in the Old Kingdom series. Although Sabriel works as a standalone book, Lirael doesn't in the sense that the end of the book is not an end. It stops in the middle and continues in Abhorsen (the third book).
I loved the parts about lirael, and like a similar reviewer found the Sam parts dragged on. Although I understand it was necessary to the advancement of the storyline.
I read it for the first time as a teenager and am re-reading it now as an adult. Still a much enjoyable read which only took me two days as i couldn't put it down. Would recommend if you like fantasy and a (mostly) female POV.
