Ringer by Lauren Oliver

2.5/5 stars

Ringer had some lovely things about it: poetic similes and metaphors, the messages in Lyra's half, and Lyra's ending.

For the most part, though, nothing stood out to me.

Whereas Replica’s gripping points were the discovery of the Haven mystery and the same story being told from two different viewpoints, Ringer had neither of these things. I didn’t feel like I discovered anything new at any point of the book, and the two halves of the books were pretty much entirely separate.

I was also saddened by the fact that Gemma's was my favorite perspective in Replica (because she was the most active protagonist of the two, and actively sought out this great mystery) and... it was so not in Ringer, because it somehow felt like she lost all the things that made her more interesting.
