A Totally Awkward Love Story by Tom Ellen, Lucy Ivison
3.0
While I enjoyed some parts of this book, it wasn't really meant for me. A lot of the book deal with teenagers doing it or wanting to do it or feeling bad about not doing it or talking about doing it. As someone who isn't really into that, the book kind of lost me there. But I appreciated the book's approach to female friendships, and how they can be both rewarding and toxic. I liked Hannah, but if I didn't I would be really mad at her for how often she calls herself ugly when she's basically gorgeous and has hot guys falling over her. That's one of my least favorite clichés. Sam was kind of likable and at the same time kind of stupid. And while I thought the two had chemistry together, there isn't a lot of time devoted to it and more time spent in pointless mix ups, and as a result the ending feels kind of rushed. All in all, it was a fine read, just not my cup of tea.
