Listen, this book started off great and had me hooked but the minute they got married it unfortunately went downhill for me.
And the reason for that is absolutely, 100% a me problem so take this review with a grain of salt.
The reason this got such a low rating from me was because, once they tied the knot, Noah's constant use of the word "wife" became extremely irritating for me. Listen, listen -- before you all come for my neck with pitchforks hear me out. I love when it's "my wife" because it's posessive and for reasons we can unpack later it does something to me. However, when it's simply just using the word "wife" instead of using her name or a cute pet name it irritates me. I've DNF'd books for this reason alone and i'm not sorry about it.
I can look past it if he says "hey wife" or calls her "wife" two, four times max. But when they start using it instead of a cute pet name or their name, i'm like okay enough is enough. I could go on and on about how much this irks me, but I won't because quite frankly i doubt anyone cares.
Other than that minor inconvenience, this story was adorable and sweet and I loved the banter between Noah and Shay. I also loved how Shay was with his niece and how she helped her. It was all so sweet.
