I’m so glad I finally decided to give in to the hype and pick this book up, because wow, is the hype deserved. What an absolutely incredible story. Perfectly written with a perfectly crafted story, perfectly portrayed characters and a perfect cliffhanger to end on. This has climbed its way to my top 3 favourite books, and I urge whoever is on the fence about reading this book to just read it. It is fantastic. All I want to do it start reading it all over again. I am beyond excited for the next instalment.
Violet, the main character, is one of my favourite protagonists of any fantasy book I have ever read. She is strong willed, funny, sweet and relatable.

gave me sketchy vibes from the get go - as soon as my guy said he wouldn’t disobey the rules to save Violets ass I decided i didn’t like him. Despite thinking he sucked, the BETRAYAL that I took PERSONALLY when we find out that he’d been reading her memories without her knowledge or consent since THE BEGINNING OF THE BOOK!!! Flabbergasted.
Absolutely fantastic story telling, i did not expect that in the least and it was so well lead up to.
Xaden. What more can i say.
He had me squealing blushing and kicking throughout the entire book. Even when he was out talking about killing her its implied he used his shadows to hide her. He was on her side from the very beginning. I ADORE him.

Read it. PLEASE read it.
