Fired Up
by K.K. Allen
This insta-attraction, with a dash of fate sprinkled in, is super cute and perfect for all romance lovers.
Asher is a hot EMT with a huge heart. He is completely swoon-worthy from start to finish. Then add in the single mom, Meadow, with her adorable son and this is probably the sweetest romance (with steamy hotness splashed about) that K.K. Allen has ever written.
Asher's natural born instinct of serve and protect has been with him for a long time. Having served with the military and now with the fire department, his need to care for others runs strong. He is truly a nice guy, so when his first meet-cute moment goes the wrong way when he comes across Meadow at an accident, needless to say, he feels horrible later.
These two seem to be fated, because they not only meet at an accident, but they continue to run into one another multiple times and at different events. While Meadow isn't set on meeting anyone new in her life, she has a child to raise, a new career to get off the ground, and her life to get sorted, but it's really hard to say no to a man like Asher, especially when destiny has other plans for them.
Their meeting seems not only set by fate, but a second chance in the romance department for them both. Neither are masters in this field and both have loved and lost in this particular game before. Could they find happiness in each other's arms or will the stakes prove to be too high?
This is a standalone in the Bayside Heroes series and while other Bayside characters pop up, it is not crucial to have read the other books to understand this plotline.
