Spearhead: An American Tank Gunner, His Enemy, and a Collision of Lives in World War II by Adam Makos

4.0

I thought "A higher call" also by Adam Makos was excellent so I wanted to listen to Spearhead. I don't know anything about tankers and there were a lot of battles in this book which aren't my favorite but it was quite a good book. Once again the brutality of war and the body count is heart breaking, what it does to someone to kill or experience so much death is also beyond comprehension. I like what Adam Makos does by finding untold stories. I like that he shares the struggles of the soldiers both during the war and after but I especially like that he illustrates and highlights human decency and kindness.
