It started out so strong for me, I enjoyed both main characters, especially Henry. He's patient and kind while Bennet works through a really tough grief journey that she's apparently been on for years. She's anxious and depressed, so much so that while she seems to have supportive friends (at least her best friend that she lives with) and family (? they're not mentioned much), it's a bit shocking to me that none of them have encouraged her to see a therapist.

I loved all of Henry and Bennet's adventures together, and their relationship for the most part including some of the bumps in the road. But, I feel like he really handles her with care, and she doesn't realize or appreciate that. He's understanding of what she's going through, and willing to wait for her to be ready, and when she finally is, she flips her mind again in the third act in a pretty cruel, devastating interaction.

As far as the setting goes, as a native NYer, I love a story set in NYC. 🗽🍎🚕

The writing itself is great and doesn't read like a debut. I think my main issue is that it was marketed as a rom com, and while it does have comedic bits, it leans more into the grief/depression/anxiety Bennet is going through and it's affect on a relationship, which is valid, just not what I was anticipating going into it.
