Upside-Down Magic by Emily Jenkins, Sarah Mlynowski, Lauren Myracle

3.0

I had a great time with Upside-Down Magic, and I would have no trouble recommending this to readers of any age. My only niggle is that I felt like this was more of an introduction rather than a stand-alone novel. Which doesn't distract from this story, and leaves plenty to be discovered in the remainder of the series. I was feeling in the beginning that this was way too derivative, but give this a chance and you'll be swept away by the imaginative take on magical abilities and the very real-life issues of standing up for your true friends and being your own natural self.
