The Whispering Statue by Carolyn Keene

3.0

I can see why this book is still popular. I’m interested to see how the other books compare. Are they all more focused on getting caught up in dangerous situations than on the plot? The characters were alright, but I wish the boys weren’t all attractive, there for protection or other forms of “male assistance”, and that they actually had personalities. The mystery was okay, but seemed to be drawn out because Nancy kept getting interrupted by inconvenient situations. Glad to see that the girls are about to do things on there own and am actually surprised at the lack of dating and marriage mentioned considering this serious started in the 1930s.
