This is supposed to be an adult novel, but it reads much more like a YA book. Our main character Jing reads more like a stubborn teenager than an adult for almost the entirety of the book. She's very unpleasant to read for the first 40% of the book, but eventually she starts to grow and stop immediately treating everyone like they're out to get her.
The ending felt very abrupt, and there were still things that I had questions about that went unanswered. Maybe there's gonna be a sequel? But I doubt it.
