Quantum Supremacy: How the Quantum Computer Revolution Will Change Everything by Michio Kaku

4.0

It is always good to check in with Michio Kaku to see what awesome new science is going on. I suspect his publisher pushed him to write a single topic book just for a change and although the title of this one suggests Kaku listened, he really did not.

This is another great, easy to understand, science fundamental book that all ties into quantum computing. I find his explanations of physics, chemistry and biology all fantastic. The first part is a discusssion on what quantum computing is and how it is being developed. Very easy to grasp and I am now much more able to carry on a conversation touching on this. The next 2/3 are what Kaku excells at which is how emerging technologies could affect our lives. Quantum computing is the frame and he touches on all our present challenges from weather forecasting to fusion reactors showing how quantum computing might solve intractable problems.

If you are looking for an in depth how to for quantum computing, this isn't it but it is a fantastic start and will get you excited for a quantum revolution.
