What My Bones Know: A Memoir of Healing from Complex Trauma by Stephanie Foo
emotional
reflective
medium-paced
5.0
wow, Stephanie Foo does such a phenomenal job of weaving her story with her research and journalism. highly, highly recommend this one on audio, especially given the author's background in radio. incredible memoir about a difficult childhood told in a curious and compassionate way. she writes and reflects in a way that encourages everyone, not just people who may share a history or diagnosis, to more humanness.
the book starts quite heavy, with chapters about her upbringing. the introduction does start with some content warnings so readers/listeners can make an informed decision about what makes sense for them to read/hear.
might end up being one of my top books of 2023.
