The Lager Queen of Minnesota
by J. Ryan Stradal
I found this book in a Minnesota bookstore, after checking out the author’s latest. A friend recommended that I start with this one, and read them on audio. The narrator is fantastic and definitely adds to the Minnesota of it all, but I am sure I would love this story in any form. It traces the lives of two sisters, after they become estranged when one is given the full inheritance (rather than splitting it) in order to start a brewery. I’m not a beer drinker (or lager or ale or any of the other forms of beer that play a role here), I learned a lot and assume IPA drinkers would love this story. Very strong sense of place, well developed characters, I loved this story.
